01 November, 2016 Cream Cleansers: Three Picks for Sensitive Skin
When my skin is sensitive and prone to those horrible, under-the-skin lurker spots that never seem to disappear under foundation and concealer, I always end up reaching for creamy and comforting cleansers. While these cream cleansers may not be packed with spot-fighting acids, they do a great job of soothing my inflamed complexion and keeping any irritation under control.
Cream cleansers are fab at this time of year, and when it’s freezing cold outside, there’s nothing like a butt-load of Cleanse & Polish, warm water to rinse it all away, and a few spritzes of hydrating facial spray to keep me feeling fresh.
Here are my three favourite cream cleansers – please let me know of the ones you love too!
Elemis Pro-Radiance Cream Cleanser (£23.50)
I’ve recently discovered Elemis – criminally underrated by bloggers and yet they seem to be everywhere – and this cleanser is the one that’s got me hooked. Beautifully scented, lightweight and SUPER hydrating, it can be used to remove makeup, give skin a thorough cleanse in the morning, and as it contains a bunch of plant extracts to balance and calm, it’s great on stressed, sensitive complexions.
Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish (£15.50)
A cream cleanser that needs little to no introduction, this beauty is just too good. The zingy, slightly herbal scent is the perfect antidote to groggy mornings, and when paired with a flannel (I always avoid the muslin cloths from Liz Earle, soz) it makes for a quick yet effective morning ritual. I don’t use this every day – or even every week – but when I do, I always remember why I’ve repurchased this little teal tube so many times.
Antipodes Grace Gentle Cream Cleanser* (£24.99)
Last up is a great organic option if you’re into all things natural. Antipodes do some gorgeous skincare – their Aura mask is a hero product of mine – and this cream cleanser ticks all the boxes. It has a luxurious and silky formula, contains vinanza (an antioxidant complex to remove impurities from the skin) along with nourishing avocado oil, and is a dream when removing tough eye makeup. It’s such a treat to use and I definitely need to start using this in my regular skincare rotation!
As I’ve said, lemme know which cream cleansers you love, and don’t forget to share your questions and comments below!
