June Beauty Favourites 2016

28 June, 2016 June Beauty Favourites 2016

Greetings all. By the time I post this I’ll be in glorious Mykonos (you can check out my beauty packing guide here), and I’m so excited just thinking about cocktails on the beach, getting a tan, and chilling out for a week. For now though, here are my June Beauty Favourites 2016, including my go-to products for work, some lovely skincare, and a new perfume fave.

June Beauty Favourites 2016

Trilogy Rosehip Balancing Gel Cleanser* (£22.50)

I was sent this face wash a month or two ago, and kind of forgot I had it. It’s a lovely cleanser with a gel texture and a gloriously floral scent. It foams up slightly, but it doesn’t feel soapy or drying on my skin. The best comparison I have to this is the Philosophy Purity One-Step Cleanser, which I adore. A great option for a a refreshing second cleanse!

The Body Shop Drops of Light Brightening Essence Lotion* (£14)

I received a PR package of some gorgeous skincare and body care from The Body Shop this month, including the entire Drops of Light range and some lovely bits from the Pinita Colada line, including the divine Polynesian Island Tiare fragrance. This silky essence is a great option to ‘sandwich’ in moisture between the toner step and the serum step, although I’d happily use this instead of a serum if I wanted a lighter product. It feels gorgeous on my skin and is great to apply under makeup, as it applies so quickly and evenly. If you’re looking to try an essence, I’d absolutely recommend this one.

Liz Earle Eyebright Soothing Eye Lotion (£13.25, review here)

My hay fever has been pretty bad this month, and I’ve used this soothing treatment from Liz Earle at least once a day. It’s a cooling lotion that immediately soothes dry and irritated eyes. It also removes light traces of eye makeup, making it a great early-morning option before applying makeup.

Superdrug Simply Pure Hydrating Serum (£2.69)

Sali Hughes recommended this serum a while ago (read her review here), and I’ve been looking for it for what seems like an absolute age. It’s a no-frills hydrating serum that is SO cheap, leaves skin feeling soft and comfortable, and would suit just about any skin type. If you’re on a tight budget but still want to factor in a serum to your daily routine, I’d give this a go!

No7 Airbrush Away Pore Minimising Primer (£16.50)

I’ve not stopped using this primer all month – it smoothes pores, decently controls oil, and makes makeup go that extra mile. I’m taking this to Mykonos as I find it works well in heat (and can also be worn alone), meaning I’ll get a little more wear out of it. Another under-rated find from No7!

Maybelline Fit Me Matte and Poreless Foundation (£5.99)

This full-coverage foundation has been my foundation of choice for work, when my Estee Lauder Double Wear is just a little too heavy. It’s creamy, pigmented, applies like a dream, and comes in a handy plastic tube. It also blurs over pores in a way I rarely find in drugstore foundations, which is always a plus.

KIKO Long-Lasting Stick Eyeshadow in 05 Rosy Brown and 06 Chocolate Brown (both £4.80, review here)

This won’t come as a surprise if you’ve been reading my blog for a while, but I just can’t get enough of these KIKO eyeshadow sticks! 05 is a beautifully mink-violet with hints of cool-tone brown, and 06 is a pure gold-bronze. They both look amazing on brown eyes and can easily transform from a pretty everyday wash of colour, to full-on glamour with just a few more layers. These are 100% coming with me to Mykonos – pair with a matte brown in the crease and winged liner, and you’ve got a fab smoky eye in seconds.

Rimmel Lasting Finish Nude Lipstick in 45 (£5.49)

There’s nothing like a nude lippie, and Rimmel’s 45  is probably the prettiest milky mauve-pink in my collection. I like to pair it with MAC Lip Liner in Whirl (£12.50) applied all over the lip, for a natural yet defined lip look that is great for work and also looks lovely on a night out.

Philosophy Fresh Cream Eau de Toilette (£34)

Last up is this gorgeous scent from Philosophy. My gorgeous pal Amy introduced this to me on our trip to Brighton, and I can’t stop wearing it! It’s a rich, sweet and creamy scent, with hints of almond and vanilla – a true gourmand fragrance.

I’ve been also a big fan of that Maybelline foundation, it works so well for me at the moment when I don’t want any heavy base.

    Have an awesome holidays! x
