Evening Skincare Routine: The Lazy Edition

17 May, 2016 Evening Skincare Routine: The Lazy Edition

If you follow me on Instagram then you’ll know I love nothing better than an indulgent, luxurious evening skincare routine. However, sometimes all I want to do after a long day, is remove makeup quickly and slide into bed. When I’m in that mood, I’ll whip out my easy, lazy-friendly evening regime: an edited selection of five products that cleanse, refresh and condition my skin, that takes a minimal amount of time, and feels kind of amazing too.

Evening Skincare Routine

If you’re after a fuss-free evening skincare routine packed with gorgeous formulations and brands, then keep reading!

First CleanseMerumaya Melting Cleansing Balm (£16.50)

To achieve a clean, grime-free face, it’s all about double cleansing. I’ll first start with this luxurious cleansing balm from Merumaya, that comes in a handy tube, making it super easy and faff-free when compared to traditional balm pots. A generous squeeze is all you need to completely remove makeup, and melt into a lightweight oil. When combined with water, it emulsifies and washes away, leaving barely any residue. It’s fab to use with a hand-hot flannel, and the divine, spa-like scent is incredibly calming. Click here for my full review!

Second CleanseAntipodes Hallelujah Lime & Patchouli Cleanser (£22.99)

For my second cleanse, I’ll go in with this creamy wash from Antipodes. It’s a newer addition to my stocks, but I’m obsessed already. It feels very mild and light on the skin, and foams up lightly. The scent is very herbal and fresh, and it doesn’t strip my skin or make it feel tight and irritated. It’s packed with avocado to nourish and carrot to brighten, along with lime and patchouli to promote a fresher, firmer complexion.

ExfoliatePixi Glow Tonic with Aloe Vera & Ginseng (£18)

This toner has been in my skincare rotation for years, and it’s such a reliable, effective product for light daily exfoliation. It’s gentle enough to use once a day (in my opinion), and really helps to smooth out dry patches and make skin look healthier and brighter,

SootheMario Badescu Facial Spray with Aloe, Herbs & Rosewater (£5.95)

I enjoy the process of using a soothing spray more than the actual benefits and ingredients involved, and I find that any brand will work. The whole point of a mist is to instantly refresh, moisturise and prep skin for other products, whilst also cooling and calming after using any intense toners, exfoliants or cleansers. This one from Mario Badescu is affordable, deliciously scented, and great for holiday too. Keep a bottle in the fridge to use on sunburnt skin – it feels incredible!

Hydrate and TreatNo7 Beautiful Skin Overnight Radiance Boost (£14)

When I’m feeling super lazy and just can’t be bothered to get my serums and oils out, I’ll go in with this hydrating treatment from No7. It claims to help reduce dullness, dark spots and pigmentation, whilst also perking up the skin with caffeine and Vitamin C, and providing a hefty dose of nourishment too. I find that it works really well at hydrating and boosting radiance, and it’s gentle enough to use every night. I’ve said in the past that it’s a good drugstore alternative to a product like Good Genes from Sunday Riley, although it’s far more mild and gentle. It’s not gloopy or sticky like a serum, so it feels comfortable on its own, and it absorbs instantly, meaning I can jump into bed and let my products get to work.

[…] I’d like to preface this post with the disclaimer that I absolutely do not go through this routine every day; rather, I choose to pamper my skin and unwind with great skincare after a particularly stressful day, if I’ve been travelling, or on the weekend when I have more time available. If you’re after quick and easy skincare routines for morning and evening, check out my dedicated posts here and here. […]
