14 January, 2016 The Body Shop Vitamin E Moisture Serum – A Rave Review!
You’ve probably heard me ramble on a dozen times about The Body Shop Vitamin E Moisture Serum (£13 here), a fabulous, water-based serum that provides lightweight hydration under moisturiser, primer and foundation. Although I’m constantly praising this treatment, it struck me recently that I’ve never written a blog post solely dedicated to its miraculously moisturising properties. Well, here you have it – my review of my holy grail, can’t-live-without-it serum!
For starters, this serum and I go way back. I picked up my first bottle over three years ago, when I first really got into skincare and the whole ritual of looking after my complexion. I watched review after review on Youtube before I handed over my £13 (I was lot more frugal back then), and cautiously used half a pump per application, so as not to waste a drop.
The ingredients list isn’t exactly the healthiest I’ve ever seen, and the serum contains oil forms and parabens – however, I still love it, and am willing to look past the naughty additions. The key hydration boosters are Vitamin E and shea butter, along with glycerin to attract moisture to the skins surface.
What I love most about this serum is how easily it sinks into the skin. It doesn’t leave a sticky residue, and it hydrates to that perfect point where my complexion feels soft and supple, without feeling oily. Moisturiser applies beautifully on top, as does primer and foundation – it’s the first step to a more even and flawless looking face.
I’m constantly recommending The Body Shop Vitamin E Moisture Serum, and I’ll always keep a backup or two in my skincare stocks. For more skincare goodness, check out my Top Six: Treatments, Oils and Serums, and my review of the wonderful (but pricey) Pestle and Mortar Pure Hyaluronic Serum.
