10 December, 2015 Kiehl’s Creamy Eye Treatment With Avocado
If you’ve been reading my blog for a while, then you would have noticed that I have never reviewed (or even used) an eye cream. Whilst some skincare connoisseurs would be appalled at the thought, I’ve always believed that they were a gimmick – an extra product to add to a routine that doesn’t improve the area, but creates the illusion that you’re doing something beneficial. I finally gave into the eye cream hype after noticing some flaky, dry skin around my eyes, that looked dull and dehydrated when I applied concealer and powder. Eyeshadow wasn’t sitting well, and my eyes were looking far too puffy, red and sore for comfort. After reading multiple rave reviews of the Kiehl’s Creamy Eye Treatment With Avocado (£20 here), I thought I’d give it a go.
Although on the pricier side at £20 a tub, this eye cream is incredibly rich and emollient – meaning you only need a tiny amount (the size of a pea in my case) to spread comfortable across the under-eye area, on the lid, and up to the orbital bone. The Kiehl’s Creamy Eye Treatment features avocado oil for its intensively nourishing properties, along with the added benefits of Vitamin A and fatty acids to plump up dehydrated patches, and reduce the appearance of fine lines.
The cream stays firmly in the area you place it, meaning it won’t migrate down to my cheeks (and ginormous pores) and cause any excessive oiliness. It smells lovely, provides intense hydration, and has noticeably improved the texture of my lids, the moisture levels under my eyes, and made concealer apply SO smoothly too.
I love to use this after my toning step and before a serum, to allow it to absorb fully. Although they say to add the lightest textures first in your skincare routine, because this cream is so rich, it does take a while to dry down.
If you’re suffering from flaky, sore winter skin, and in need of a hydration boost that will quickly bring your delicate eye area back to life, I would absolutely recommend the Creamy Eye Treatment With Avocado.
Now I’m an eye cream convert and fully hooked on this Kiehl’s beauty, I would love to know about any other eye creams you recommend – leave your suggestions below!
Have a gorgeous day,
