Face Mask Friday #22: Merumaya Mud Marvels Mask

Merumaya Mud Marvels Mask

04 December, 2015 Face Mask Friday #22: Merumaya Mud Marvels Mask

Face masks never get old for me. Whether they are hydrating, clarifying, brightening or a combination of each, masks offer a fantastic escape from day-to-day mundanity, and are (usually) a pleasure to use. Today, I’m sharing my thoughts on the Merumaya Mud Marvels Mask (£19.50 here) – a purifying, clay-based masks that claims to deeply cleanse, detoxify, even, and brighten the skin tone.

Merumaya Mud Marvels Mask

Harnessing the power of activated charcoal, volcanic ash, AHAs and nourishing oils, this mask is the perfect all-in-one. Whilst most clay-based masks offer solely purifying or oil-controlling benefits, this clever little mask both kills germs and bacteria, whilst smoothing the complexion and providing a comforting boost of moisture.

I’ve tried this mask three times in the last 10 days, and have really enjoyed it. It’s not drying at all (a rare treat), meaning you can keep it on the skin longer, and really let it work its magic. The clay does a great job of purging pores, but it doesn’t bring spots to a head, meaning it’s safe to use pre-fancy event. The texture is malleable and it doesn’t crust up in the tube – seems slightly picky for me to mention, but this stuff drives me crazy when I see it in other products!

You definitely notice the oat oil and Vitamin E getting to work, as massaging this lovely mask off feels silky, rather than scratchy and drying. It’s comparable to the Aesop Parsley Seed Cleansing Masque in terms of purification and blemish-control, with a hint of the Origins Original Skin Retexturizing Mask for its brightening and skin-firming properties.

I love Merumaya as a brand (check out my brand focus here), and I think they offer consistently high-quality products, with a special emphasis on mature skin. If you have oily-combination skin and want your skin to look youthful, clear and firm, I would definitely recommend the Merumaya Mud Marvels Mask!

Omg me too! I have a ton of problems with it all the time, it’s the best looking comment system and the easiest to use, but not easy to set up and maintain :'( Aww Jess you’re so welcome, I’ll be sure to drop a tweet here and there, I’m always looking for prod reviews like this one <3
