07 October, 2015 What’s New: ColourPop Haul and Swatches
There’s nothing like a ginormous haul to bring some cheer to a Wednesday morning – and boy, are you in for a treat! I recently placed an order with the U.S. brand ColourPop, as I’ve been coveting their products for months, and have seen countless bloggers and Youtubers raving about the Lippie Stix, Super Shock Eyeshadows, and gorgeous, shimmering highlighters. The reason I love this brand so much is their price-point: lipsticks and lip pencils are $5, eyeshadows are $5, and blushes and highlighters are $8 – and the formulas are so luxurious, you would never know the brand offered products cheaper than most drugstore lines. I chose fifteen (yes, fifteen) products, including a ton of Lippie Stix, which I’ll be reviewing in more detail in a separate post with lip swatches. For now, enjoy my new collection of ColourPop products, and let me know which products you love from the brand!
The three Super Shock Eyeshadows that I picked up were Sequin (a metallic rosy gold), Shark Attack (pearly peach with gold shimmer), and Shop (a matte orange-red). I’ve wanted to try out some red-toned eyeshadows for a while, and these three shades were the perfect introduction to this Autumn-appropriate trend.
I only picked up one highlighter as I’ve still not mastered the art of strobing (I just look like I’ve poured glittery grease all over my face), but I’m really impressed with the colour I chose. Wisp is a yellow-toned champagne, and has a gorgeous, creamy texture that simply melts into the skin. I apply it with my fingers to the tops of my cheekbones, or all over the lid with a matte brown in the crease for a pretty, everyday look.
I ordered two Ultra Matte Lips, in the shades Solow and Clueless. The texture takes a while to get used to, and the formula can be quite drying, but otherwise I’m a big fan. Solow is a gorgeous peachy pink, whilst Clueless is a dusky mauve with a hint of brown – they both look surprisingly natural on my lips, and wear for around nine hours without the need to top up.
The ColourPop Lippie Stix are the most iconic product range from the brand – they offer a mixture of matte, gloss, satin and creamy finishes, with stunning shades to suit even the pickiest of lipstick lovers. Naturally I couldn’t settle on just one, so I bought nine. Starting from left to right, we have Frida (bright peach, satin formula), Tootsie (dirty greige, matte formula), Brink (muted mauve-brown, matte formula), Lumiere (vibrant mauve-pink, matte formula and a bang-on dupe for NARS’ Anna lipstick), Fighter (blue-toned crimson, matte formula, sold out), Bound (creamy pale pink, glossy formula), Crunch (light peach-orange, sheer formula), Juice Bar (vibrant candy purple, sheer formula), and Kiddo (deep nude pink-brown, sheer formula).
My favourite formula has to be the mattes, as they are SO creamy without moving or smudging. The precision tip means you can apply the Lippie Stix without worrying about messing up the line, and the vanilla cupcake scent is gorgeous. The Sheer range is also beautiful, and great for everyday wear – Kiddo has become my go-to lipstick for work and weekends. Expect a full review with lip swatches of these bad boys coming very soon!
What are your thoughts on ColourPop? Do you own any of the products I picked up? Let me know in the comments!
PS: a friend from the U.S. picked up my package to bring back to the UK on her last trip home, which is how I could order in such large quantities. ColourPop offer free shipping on orders over $30 in the U.S. and a $5 discount on your first purchase when you sign up to them!
