22 April, 2015 Making It Up 2.0 – We Are Live!
After months of planning, designing, panic emailing and insomnia, the new blog is up and running.
This time of year always gets me in the mood to spring clean, and around early February I decided to give my blog a revamp. Starting my blog was always a huge dream of mine but I didn’t know anything at all about blog design, so I kept it very minimalist and – dare I say it – a bit safe.
The picture in the centre of the homepage is of me, aged six, mucking around with a fancy dress box. I wanted to use a picture that summarizes what Making It Up is all about – enjoying beauty, getting dolled up, and celebrating how it makes us all feel.
Kelly and Jonathan at Levitan Media and Todd at 972 Creative helped me create the logo, theme and overall design of the site, and I honestly couldn’t be happier. They were so fantastic with all the tech jargon and helping me make sense of going self-hosted, and I couldn’t recommend them highly enough if you’re thinking of improving and redesigning your site.
We created a homepage so that there’s always something new to discover through the different categories, and you can access my archived posts based on year or month. The Instagram feed is super-snazzy and displays all of my snaps in an easy-to-view grid, and the new Contact page has a direct link to my inbox, so whenever you have a question or request, I’m only a click away! You can also check out my favourite bloggers in my Blogroll.
If you haven’t subscribed already, please do! You’ll receive brand new posts three times a week, and if you aren’t following me on my social media accounts (Instagram, Pinterest and Twitter), then head on over for lots more unmissable beauty goodness.
I’m so pleased with how it’s all turned out and incredibly excited for you all to use my site and explore my posts, both old and new.
Thanks for your continued support and positivity about Making It Up 2.0 – I love you all lots.
