My (New) All-Time Favourite Face Brush

19 February, 2015 My (New) All-Time Favourite Face Brush

For the longest time, the Real Techniques Buffing Brush from the Core Collection was my go-to for a seamless, lightweight foundation application. However, since changing up my base routine this winter and opting for a slightly heavier coverage, the Real Techniques Expert Face Brush has been incredible for blurring over my pores and creating a flawless yet natural look for everyday, as well as on special occasions.

Unlike the circular Buffing Brush, the Expert Face Brush has a more rectangular shape, which makes it so easy to get into areas that require a more exact application, like around my nose and under my eyes. The dense bristles make applying foundation a doddle, and using a blending motion requires less work than buffing, and still delivers full coverage without any lines or visible patchiness.

The Expert Face Brush is also a great multi-tasker; you can use it with blusher by applying it in a stippling motion, or place into the hollows of your cheekbones with a powder or cream contour. I love using it with a yellow-toned concealer to brighten under my eyes and the tops of my cheekbones, and it does a great job at making me look more awake and refreshed.

It’s so easy to clean and because of the synthetic hairs, it won’t shed, dry out or irritate my skin. I wash my brushes with regular shampoo and find it gets rid of product build up so well, and my brushes stay soft and flexible.

Come summer, I’ll probably go back to the Buffing Brush and tinted moisturisers for a sheer layer of coverage, but for now this is my go-to when used with a medium-to-full foundation, that creates a gorgeous finish that lasts all day.

You can buy the Real Techniques Expert Face Brush here for £9.99.
