Shopping My Stash #6

26 December, 2014 Shopping My Stash #6

There’s nothing better than a good spring clean, as it’s a chance for me to dig out old favourites and give some often-ignored products a second chance. Whilst rooting around my makeup stocks in preparation for my cousin’s wedding last Sunday, I found this gem from Wet N Wild. It’s the Colour Icon Blusher in Pearlescent Pink, and is often described as a drugstore dupe for NARS’ Orgasm blusher. I blogged about it in my Top Six: Blushers post last August, and since then have neglected it in favour of newer, more winter-appropriate shades.

For evening events and a more glamorous makeup look, this really is the perfect blush. It’s a vibrant pink, with a hint of gold shimmer running through it that’s subtle and flattering. I have always found Orgasm to be a little too peachy and glittery, but this blusher is a smidgen more subtle and wearable. On pale skins this can translate as quite deep and rosy, and on darker skin tones I would imagine this to be a great pop of colour when applied sparingly. For under £4 I’m really impressed with the softness and pigmentation of this product and it doesn’t feel chalky or textured on my skin at all.

If you’re looking for a cheap and cheerful blush that’s the perfect blend of peach, pink and rosy tones, try out this guy – you can find it on most affordable beauty sites based in the US, such as Cherry Culture or Beauty Joint, and I’ve included an Amazon link to purchase here for £3.24.

Have you tried this blusher before, or any other products from Wet N Wild? Leave your thoughts, questions and recommendations in the comments section below, or tweet me @MakingItUpBlog.

Hope you all had a happy Christmas!
