22 August, 2014 Face Mask Friday #4
I’m really enjoying writing these weekly posts; I get to revisit some amazing products which may have been pushed to the back of my skincare drawer, and I’m getting loads of recommendations for new masks to try from other bloggers and readers. Please keep them coming!
This week I’m testing and talking about Soap & Glory’s The Fab Pore 2-in-1 Facial Mask and Peel. It’s a clay mask with a really creamy, light consistency, that works to eliminate excess oil, resurface the skin and reduce the appearance of pores. The reason I enjoy this mask is probably because of the lightweight texture. It applies so easily, it doesn’t sting or burn like some masks targeted at oily skin, and wipes away with warm water and a flannel or muslin cloth. I usually apply for 15 minutes after cleansing, but you could leave it on for longer if you wanted to. There are some small granules in the product which I don’t usually enjoy, but with the help of the muslin cloth they gently buff away dead skin, leaving it soft and comfortable.
I don’t really understand why it’s called a peel as it doesn’t peel off, but it could be to do with the whole ‘resurfacing’ element of the mask – either way, it’s effective and an all-round great mask to have for days when my skin is reactive and blemished, as well as when I want to do a skin detox and remove any impurities after a long week.
This is the perfect mask to add to a weekly pamper session, and would work really well with the Origins Drink Up Intensive Overnight Mask, which I normally apply after to restore moisture, rehydrate and soothe my skin. You can read my review of the Origins mask here.
The Fab Pore 2-in-1 Facial Peel and Mask is £10 and you can buy it here.
Have you tried the mask? Let me know in the comments of any other mask recommendations!
